Charles Johnston & Tatiana Aya Tupinambá

Charles and Tatiana founded Nekawa as a wellness education program rooted in their own life experiences. Charles overcame a multi-year intravenous opiate addiction through ibogaine treatment in 2013 — an experience that set the course of his life. Tatiana, an indigenous woman from the Tupinambá Tribe of Northern Brazil, found her way through a traumatic childhood and alcohol dependency with ayahuasca, and has guided plant medicine ceremonies since 2012. Charles and Tatiana lead Nekawa as a program; medical care is provided by independent licensed physicians.

Together, they are devoted to nature and to building a place where science, indigenous wisdom, and the healing power of the natural world come together to give people a genuine second chance at life.
